SPECIAL SURVEILLANCE UNIT
The Special Surveillance Unit collects, verifies, analyzes, and disseminates information on Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV and AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis. Conduct special surveillance like IHBSS, Drug Resistance, and AEFI cases.
The Special Surveillance Unit (SSU) Core Functions:- Maintain HIV and AIDS and Anti-retroviral Therapy (ART) data-based.
- Design and conduct special surveillance activities.
- Collect data on HIV Testing.
- Monitor HIV Testing strategies.
- Conduct verification and epidemiologic investigation of Adverse Event Following Immunization and other Vaccine-preventable diseases, including Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP).
